Default How many Leaving WoW for here soon?

Well I cancelled my WoW account yesterday after that mess called Honor System was released.

I have played Beta from the beginning for this game; although not as much in the last few months due to my addiction to WoW.

I am really looking forward to a game like this. Balanced pvp for me is where it's at.

I am a bit concerned though because I remember Korean players sorta ruining the beta pvp scene a bit early on.

Has that been fixed at all? I did notice they said no non english symbols etc. on english speaking servers which is a huge blessing.

I've left WoW for good, too. Once the initial "Oh wow! It's Warcraft Online!" wears off, it's not a very fun game. PvP had no point, the honor system is still all f'ed up, I don't have time for those 5+ hour instances, and the game basically just for boring.

Here's to Guild Wars being able to provide more!

To be fair, if you were into the warcraft universe, exploring the history and stuff of the world somewhat justifies the game. Otherwise, I doubt people are really into it.

Yea, at school every day all i hear is My friends constantly whining and moaning about the Honor system, and its negative corpse campingness, ganking, and about the amount of their lives they have burned with that game.... I converted them all to guild wars ....

but i doubt they'll stop WoW, Cus Its Still A really Good Game

I'm most likely leaving WoW for GW, although I havent canceled my account yet...I'll hold off on that for another month or so.

WoW was really fun in the beginning, but...it just slowly got boring until I started to wonder why I logged on anymore.

Plus running a guild on WoW is hard if your not a zerg guild.

I had a lvl 60 warlock best guild in the server we ran MC every night we would get 6 or more epic drops a night, We even killed onyxia. WoW got really boring. At first i loved exploring and saying "OMG this is where arthas killed his dad!!!111" At lvl 60 things get old. I should have known that Blizzard was going to make pallies overpowered. Rogues were easy in duels but in the open they would just own me. I am at 10 health and they stealth come up behind me and i am dead. One of my friends plays a rogue and his honorable kills is already up to 100. My other friend plays a mage. He has 10 or so. WoW was unbalanced and PvP was random rogue ganking. I came here tried GvG it was so much better, other than those ranger rituals (i forget the names there are forums about it) things look to be balanced and fun + there is a ladder so it isn't just random.

I had a friend in WoW tell me about GW, and how he was leaving as soon as it came out. He had been playing in the BWE, at the time so my account ran out last week Im not going back to WoW. The consept great but its to much like a cartoon and the grind mit be better then most games but still its there. The servers are trash i dont know how the hell they will be able to host battle grounds. I love the game I played it in beta until last week and i may go back and play again. When they have a design team that knows how to make good looking armor. Like in WoW the rogues PvP armor terriabel and the druids and shamans end game armor. What would i want big butterflies or hat racks on my shoulder armor, and the human warriors most looked like crap unless they had the valor set. I loved WoW, I loved my mount, but i cant play a game that i will fell disappiont when what i was working so hard for ended up looking like crap. May just be me, Its Rp NOT Cartoon network thats the way i fell

I totally lost interest in WOW after they put in the honor system. First day I pvped non-stop and managed to gain 3k cp's and burnt myself out. Blizzard really screwed-up especially so close to the Guild Wars release. I will probably keep my WOW account until battlegrounds and log in for the occasional MC run.

I played WoW for 3 months and recently quit. The game was incredibly fun when I first started out, but after doing hundreds of xyz quests and spending hours grinding, I lost interest. I moved to Guildwars because there is constantly action and you never have to spend your time grinding just so you can start having fun. Guildwars is a game where you either like it, or you don't. Some people like to spend hours grinding, and some people just wanna get right to the action, it's really a matter of opinion.

Funny how well Blizzard timed the release of this awful (or so I've heard) patch just to coincide with the release of Guild Wars. It almost seems like they're *trying* to lose members to Guild Wars!

I have a 58 Priest. I hate it. There is NOTHING TO DO once you get to that level. Mind you, I enjoyed playing up to 58 immensely, but that's because me and 4 other guys grouped 6 hours+ each day. Yeah...now, not so much. You can only run MC and Onyxia so many times....

GW for the win!

I hope this is on topic, but besides DeathattheDoor, has anyone confirmed like, a significant number of people losing interest in Guild Wars over WoW? Just curious on the market.

I played WoW at a friends house several times. It was cool, but I never bought WoW becasue of the monthly fee and I didn't like the grind. So, I decided to wait for Guild Wars

I canceled my account 2 weeks before the honor system came out.
Even if it were Battlegrounds that came out I still would have canceled.
After getting lvl 60 and making a few alts to the 20's I realized this is not what I want to be doing. It seems to me the main objective in WoW is to get the best items and gear possible just to say to yourself 'sweet, i have the best gear' or bragging rights. Seems to me the main focus of GuildWars is to have fun PvPing. IMO: 'Fun' PvP does not include level60s zerging or ganking lower levels. I think GW fair #vs# setup is great and focus on skill rather than grinding time to get highest level and best armor to be best at PvP is awesome. I don't think GW > WoW because they are just simply differnt games. WoW is great if you like MMO questing like EQ. I come from SB and love skilled PvP and really look forward to this game.

The majority of my guild comes from World of Warcraft, many canceled their accounts to come to GW and the Honor patch is promting a lot of people to leave. I think it was released to keep people from getting bored and going to another game, but instead it is having the opposite effect and people are leaving because the honor system is causing so many problems.

Unfortunately, there's really no easy way to measure that. I'm certainly hearing a lot of anecdotal evidence, though, for whatever that's worth (not much really, anecdotal evidence never is, but I suspect in this case it is indicative of a significant trend -- the question is, how significant?)

It even may be too early to tell. How many people are just blowing of frustrated steam and will be over it by next week? How many really will run out and buy Guild Wars on Thursday?

We'll see what happens on Thursday, eh?

In the mean time, it is nice to hear from all you former WoW'ers who've decided to join us. Welcome!

Be prepared for a massive influx of new members. Blizzard has really upset alot of people with this latest patch and they are banking on Battlegrounds in the next patch to smooth the community over and possibly eliminate most of the honor ganking that is happening now. When that patch is released, nobody knows. Will it help what is going on now? Very doubtful.

Guild Wars better be prepared because there are hundreds if not thousands of unsatisfied WoW players.
